A huge thank you to our panelists

Isabella Matulic

Adam Jelic

and Vicky Gomez

for taking the time to speak with our CPL girls, Open Age Women and Senior Women’s teams this week as part of Female Football Week.

Your insights, experiences and advice made for a fantastic night and an inspiring discussion for everyone involved ⚽

Isabella Matulic

Isabella's football journey started at the age of 2 when she joined a Soccer Time Kids program ~ she loved it! Over the next few years she could often be found in the back yard kicking a ball around with her brother.

In 2019 Isabella made the move from another club to Dandenong City. Here she played in the U9 boys team. For the next 4 years she honed her football skills with the encouragement and support of her coaches, Mars & Steve.

In 2022, the Dandy TD suggested Isabella trial for the Football Victoria SAP program. Isabella was offered a place and attended weekly trainings sessions in addition to her Dandy training schedule.

In 2023 Isabella completed the Football Victoria TIDC program, attending training sessions, camp days and gala tournaments, as well as playing in the U13s with Dandy. At the end of 2023 Isabella trialled for, and was offered a place in, the Football Victoria U14s NTC team. During this year, she also trained once a week with the Melbourne City Select Squad.

Isabella played in an NPL girls team, with the Football Victoria U14s NTC team, for the first time in 2024. There she mostly played as a defender, where previously she had played mainly in midfield roles. She was selected in the U15s Victoria White team that attended the Football Australia Nationals Tournament in July of this year, but unfortunately was injured in the first game of the tournament and did not play a huge role.

In 2025, following successful trial and selection, Isabella continued to play with the Football Victoria Academy program; this year with the U15s team who competed in U17s NPL Junior league. She was also fortunate enough to travel with this team to Portland USA to compete in the Nike Cup against other international teams. Isabella was selected for the Emerging Matildas Championship (previously the FA Nationals) and was Vice Captain of the Victoria Blue U15s team when they played in Sydney in July of that year.

At the end of 2025 Isabella was offered a position in the inaugural Melbourne City Girls academy U20s team, playing in the NPLW league in 2026. This is where she is currently playing her football, and training three nights a week. She was also privileged to represent Melbourne City at the JSSL tournament in Singapore, where the girls team competed for the first time. As Captain of the Victoria Blue U16s team, she helped her team reach the Grand Final of the Emerging Matildas Championship in April this year.

Dandy City is a huge part of Isabella's journey and she can still be seen around the club enjoying the atmosphere, supporting the teams and of course sampling the food! She is always thrilled to be welcomed back to share her journey & advocate for the female football program, cheer everyone on at the Dandy Cup, and is grateful to the club for all their support along the way.

Adam Jelic - Mi Goals

Adam Jelic is the founder of Mi Goals and an entrepreneur whose career has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to ambition, discipline, and self-improvement. He began his journey in football, playing for Chelsea Hajduk in the 1990s before advancing to higher levels and representing the Melbourne Knights. Although an injury cut short his playing career as a teenager while he was at Bentleigh Greens, the experience left a lasting impact and taught him the value of dreaming big and setting high standards.

In 2010, Jelic founded Mi Goals with a focus on helping people turn aspirations into action through the power of macro goals and micro habits. That philosophy has not only defined the company but also guided his own path as a business leader. His story reflects resilience, vision, and the belief that consistent small actions can build extraordinary outcomes.

Vicky Gomez - clinical dietitian & nutritionist

Vicky Gomez is the founder of Healthy Empire, a wellness brand created to make healthy living simple, enjoyable, and sustainable. As a clinical dietitian and nutritionist, she built the brand in response to a recurring need she saw in her client work: people wanted nutritious options that supported their goals without feeling restrictive or sacrificing taste.

After working with thousands of clients, Vicky recognized that lasting results come from food choices that fit into real life, not from extremes or short-term trends. That insight shaped Healthy Empire around three core principles: consistency, balance, and enjoyment. What began with a single smoothie grew into a purpose-driven brand focused on convenience, nourishment, and products people genuinely want to keep in their routine.
